Stephen started making cues in 1979 when he was 18 years old.
He learned the trade from his dad and has made many contributions to the process of cue making.
Stephen's many years of hands-on experience since 1979 have earned him a place of distinction as a cue maker in his own right. Working side by side with his father, ACA Hall of Fame recipient, Dan Janes, together they have pioneered many new techniques and helped Stephen to master the old.
The Stephen Janes Custom cues are hand built, one at a time, to be strong and functional, and with reasonable care will last a lifetime. Many of the cues are “One of a Kind”. As you look through his cues the love and passion for this art form will be apparent.
